SNOW - ICE - and the Wipers! What a snow storm!

I had a pin pad/register set-up at GFS to install yesterday (hour and a half drive

away). Not a bad job, except the drive home about killed me! The snow started dumping

down to the point my heater was not warming my windshield enough and my wiper wouldn't

clear the snow entirely, (then the wiper ended up broke ten miles from home) I was

struggling, I pulled over about three times on the way home, just to melt the

windshield and wiper enough to be able to see. My neuropathy and pain were intensified

from the freezing and I was not able to heat the floor, as I had to use it all on the

window, so my swollen feet were throbbing. The roads were not plowed yet and I had

trouble discerning road and field, as 309 is winding from there to here. I ended up off

the road a bit (and I grew up in the country, well aware of winter driving techniques

and safety and I love winter driving.) but still there was just zero visibility and my

crap wipers didn't help! So, driving half off the road and unable to get back on the

road, I thought I was going to end up stuck, frozen tipped in the ditch. I was happy

and lucky enough to realize there was a cross road up ahead and I kept driving at a

good pace, still half off the road because the tires would not grip up over the

shoulder, and turning into the road until the cross road allowed me to get a grip on

it, and I got back up on the road, thank God! Swerved around a little but eventually

straightened out and got rolling at a really fast 12 miles per hour. If I went over 20

I would lose all visibility and get covered in snow. I just kept praying "God let that

be Marion up ahead." because I had no idea how long I had been on that road and there

were no landmarks I could make out, or see. Finally I came up on the railroad tracks,

the tracks I usually hate, they make us late, the noise is obnoxious and they usually

aggravate me, but not today. Those obnoxious tracks were like a beacon of hope and

reassurance I might just make it home. "Thank GOD!" I knew at that point I was getting

close enough that other people would at least be around if I did have to pull over.

Soon enough, I made it up to the gas station, where I pulled in to clean off the

windshield. In doing so, I realized, as the wiper came off in my hand while cleaning

it, that my wipers were broken and only hanging on by the pressure of the wiper arm

itself. UGH! I cleaned them off and let the heat warm the window up (the battle of the

wind chill freezing the snow/ice vs. my heat was tormenting me.) and when it was good

enough, I headed home very happily and feeling very blessed and "watched over". Wow,

what a drive! So, I was really happy to be home last night! I was shaking so much when

I got home. I ended up sleeping all day today, probably de-stressing! It is really

beautiful out there though, the snow is gorgeous! If you have employees who have to

drive in this, please make sure they have good wipers at least, or keep them home! :0)

I really need new wipers!

While you are adjusting to the new health care bill that was crammed down your throat on Christmas eve, enjoy the diversion of the government tracking santa here: www.noradsanta.org Obama is either trying to steal the limelight from Christmas/Jesus birthday by being the hero for those supporting his plan, or he is trying to snake-ily slither in his destruction of our free country while we all are distracted by this joyous time of year. I would respect him more if he would stand up for what he believed in without having to do his business in the closet while no one is watching like he knows it is bad. If he would be working for the people in the "light of day", with honerable practices allowing everyone a voice, instead of hiding what he is up to, I would respect him more. This feels wrong to America and that said, he is making us sick and no bill is going to heal us.

Christmas giving and helping those in need

In my last blog, I posted a video where Mr. Stossle reported many people are scamming us out of money this time of year by pleading with you to donate while they line their pockets. Although running a non-profit does take money, some are benefitting too much or they are putting the money straight into their own pockets, without anything benefiting those you thought it would. I posted his video below about a homeless man scamming people in NYC.

 

If you are concerned about the legitimacy of the donation collector, you could check with the better business bureau, or maybe to be safe, you should donate to the salvation army, or better yet, go out yourself and find someone who needs help. There are plenty of us out here who legitimatly need help. We all need to help each other like the Acts church in the Bible, God says to share all you have so no one is above the other and so no one is in need. These are some rough times, with much of the nation unemployed, or under-employed, many are resorting to doing the unthinkable. I read a report that stated theft in retail stores had increased by around 10% or so this year. Those who otherwise would buy, are taking. The thing is that many of them, if not all, have their basic needs met, with food in their pantries, and a roof over their heads. They somehow feel entitled or obligated to have the best in life and can not afford those things any more in this economy, so they are taking it. 

 

The question posed was, what will people resort to when the cupboard is bare and they lose their homes. Makes for a scarey situation when you think about it. It also shows with the decline in morals in our country, we see a lack of remorse for things previously considered completely immoral and unthinkable. Somehow many of us have regressed morally and need repentance to heal our land. This is a sign to me there is a great need for more ministry, witnessing, and misionary work to be done here at home. The church needs to step up and reach out, with brave unwavering Biblical truth to our hurting and wondering Nation. Consider reaching out this Holiday season, by sharing the faith and love of Jesus and extending our gifts and talents to those in need.

Step next door, or down the road, leave a basket at a doorstep or call the utility company and pay someone's utility bill, shovel a sidewalk, stop in and visit a lonely person. We can use our talents to assist our friends and neighbors with things they need help with, like fixing their house, car, babysitting, housework, yard work, the ideas are endless.

 

There are many ways we are able to reach out to each other, all year long, and even more so at this wonderful time of year at the celebration of Jesus's birth.

Here in America, children are victims of sexual slavery. At an average age of 12-14, girls are lured by traffickers and exploited in prostitution, stripping and pornography. These girls are held in emotional and physical bondage… their traffickers/pimps tell them “I know where I got you, and I can get you again. You have no place to run”. Outrageously, this is true. There is a severe shortage of protective shelters in the U.S., appropriate for this special population of victims. When they are found by police the girls are often arrested for prostitution and held in juvenile detention centers like criminals. In addition, the men who buy sex from these children go largely unpunished. In assessments of 10 U.S. locations, Shared Hope International identified that very few “buyers” are arrested. We need your help to fight this injustice."

Republic vs. Democracy

Republic vs. Democracy

REPUBLIC vs. DEMOCRACY


I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

SUMMARY
In the Pledge of Allegiance we all pledge allegiance to our Republic, not to a democracy. "Republic" is the proper description of our government, not "democracy." I invite you to join me in raising public awareness regarding that distinction.

A republic and a democracy are identical in every aspect except one. In a republic the sovereignty is in each individual person. In a democracy the sovereignty is in the group.

Republic. That form of government in which the powers of sovereignty are vested in the people and are exercised by the people, either directly, or through representatives chosen by the people, to whome those powers are specially delegated. [NOTE: The word "people" may be either plural or singular. In a republic the group only has advisory powers; the sovereign individual is free to reject the majority group-think. USA/exception: if 100% of a jury convicts, then the individual loses sovereignty and is subject to group-think as in a democracy.]

Democracy. That form of government in which the sovereign power resides in and is exercised by the whole body of free citizens directly or indirectly through a system of representation, as distinguished from a monarchy, aristocracy, or oligarchy. [NOTE: In a pure democracy, 51% beats 49%. In other words, the minority has no rights. The minority only has those privileges granted by the dictatorship of the majority.]


The distinction between our Republic and a democracy is not an idle one. It has great legal significance.

The Constitution guarantees to every state a Republican form of government (Art. 4, Sec. 4). No state may join the United States unless it is a Republic. Our Republic is one dedicated to "liberty and justice for all." Minority individual rights are the priority. The people have natural rights instead of civil rights. The people are protected by the Bill of Rights from the majority. One vote in a jury can stop all of the majority from depriving any one of the people of his rights; this would not be so if the United States were a democracy. In a pure democracy 51 beats 49[%]. In a democracy there is no such thing as a significant minority: there are no minority rights except civil rights (privileges) granted by a condescending majority. Only five of the U.S. Constitution's first ten amendments apply to Citizens of the United States. Simply stated, a democracy is a dictatorship of the majority. Socrates was executed by a democracy: though he harmed no one, the majority found him intolerable.

SOME DICTIONARY DEFINITIONS

Government. ....the government is but an agency of the state, distinguished as it must be in accurate thought from its scheme and machinery of government. ....In a colloquial sense, the United States or its representatives, considered as the prosecutor in a criminal action; as in the phrase, "the government objects to the witness." [Black's Law Dictionary, Fifth Edition, p. 625]

Government; Republican government. One in which the powers of sovereignty are vested in the people and are exercised by the people, either directly, or through representatives chosen by the people, to whome those powers are specially delegated. COMMENTS

Notice that in a Democracy, the sovereignty is in the whole body of the free citizens. The sovereignty is not divided to smaller units such as individual citizens. To solve a problem, only the whole body politic is authorized to act. Also, being citizens, individuals have duties and obligations to the government. The government's only obligations to the citizens are those legislatively pre-defined for it by the whole body politic.

In a Republic, the sovereignty resides in the people themselves, whether one or many. In a Republic, one may act on his own or through his representatives as he chooses to solve a problem. Further, the people have no obligation to the government; instead, the government being hired by the people, is obliged to its owner, the people.

The people own the government agencies. The government agencies own the citizens. In the United States we have a three-tiered cast system consisting of people ---> government agencies ---> and citizens.

The people did "ordain and establish this Constitution," not for themselves, but "for the United States of America." In delegating powers to the government agencies the people gave up none of their own. (See Preamble of U.S. Constitution). This adoption of this concept is why the U.S. has been called the "Great Experiment in self government." The People govern themselves, while their agents (government agencies) perform tasks listed in the Preamble for the benefit of the People. The experiment is to answer the question, "Can self-governing people coexist and prevail over government agencies that have no authority over the People?"

The citizens of the United States are totally subject to the laws of the United States (See 14th Amendment of U.S. Constitution). NOTE: U.S. citizenship did not exist until July 28, 1868.

Actually, the United States is a mixture of the two systems of government (Republican under Common Law, and democratic under statutory law). The People enjoy their God-given natural rights in the Republic. In a democracy, the Citizens enjoy only government granted privileges (also known as civil rights).

There was a great political division between two major philosophers, Hobbes and Locke. Hobbes was on the side of government. He believed that sovereignty was vested in the state. Locke was on the side of the People. He believed that the fountain of sovereignty was the People of the state. Statists prefer Hobbes. Populists choose Locke. In California, the Government Code sides with Locke. Sections 11120 and 54950 both say, "The people of this State do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them." The preambles of the U.S. and California Constitutions also affirm the choice of Locke by the People.

It is my hope that the U.S. will always remain a Republic, because I value individual freedom.
